The Boston Marathon offers the city of Boston one of the best days of the year, with many from around the world coming to visit.

For the Boston Red Sox, this was an opportunity to show the fan base how much they appreciate all they've done, with the team playing early in the morning to celebrate Patriots Day after the win.

For Kristian Campbell, the rookie who made his debut at the start of the season, this was his first Patriots Day, and he made sure to acknowledge it after the game, making an announcement about how special it was for him.

“It was electric,” Campbell said, per MLB.com. “The city. The fans. The people. They were super excited the whole game. It was sold-out. Everybody was packed in. It was a great experience overall. To top off with a win in this series is great.”

Campbell wasn't the only one who had promising words about this special day; skipper Alex Cora echoed the same sentiment, saying that it's always a special day for him and that he's happy the people of Boston have fun on the day.

“For me, it's always special,” Cora said of Patriots’ Day. “Now, get dressed, go to the finish line and see our people there. And just the whole experience, have fun with it.”

Back to Campbell, he’s done nothing but prove during his short time with the Red Sox that he’s one of the top young players in baseball. He went 2-3 on Monday, racking up two RBI in the win.
