After dropping their fifth straight game to fall to 12-13 on the season, the Toronto Blue Jays have now found themselves in third place in a loaded American League East division. While their pitching staff has been great, their offense has gone historically cold, resulting in just five runs in their previous four games.
And as if that wasn't bad enough for Toronto, they will now have to play a three-game series against AL East-leading New York Yankees on the road. And it seems like the 15-10 Yankees will have some reinforcements added to their lineup, specifically one of their biggest contributors this season.
In an official announcement on Thursday via their public relations account on X, the Yankees revealed that left-handed outfielder Trent Grisham was reactivated after spending time on the paternity list.
"Today, the Yankees reinstated OF Trent Grisham (#12) from the paternity list," the team announced.

Grisham was acquired by New York from the Padres as part of the 2023 Juan Soto Trade. As a Yankee, Grisham is slashing .218/.312/.454 for a .766 OPS. Those numbers have been boosted by his red-hot to begin this season.
In 20 games this season, Grisham's OPS is 1.093 and his OPS+ is 210. He is currently tied for second on the Yankees with six homers and had driven in the fourth-most runs on the team with 13.
He will be reinstated in a Yankees lineup against a struggling division rival in the Toronto Blue Jays, who have lost five straight games.
