The New York Yankees will return to Prime Video in 2025. This season, the Amazon streaming network will broadcast 21 games exclusively on Prime Video, beginning April 2, when the Yankees host the Arizona Diamondbacks. That is a Wednesday night, and 18 of the 21 Yankees games on Prime Video will air on Wednesdays.
Prime subscribers in the Yankees' home broadcast area will receive those games for free. However, the games will still be available on MLB.TV outside of the Yankees' home broadcast footprint.
The games on Prime feature matchups against seven 2024 playoff teams: the Baltimore Orioles, Cleveland Guardians, Detroit Tigers, Houston Astros, Kansas City Royals, Philadelphia Phillies and San Diego Padres.
The Prime Video broadcast will sound familiar. The YES Network's broadcast team will handle production, and Michael Kay will provide play-by-play duties. Prime Video will feature YES' Meredith Marakovits hosting a 30-minute pregame show for games at Yankee Stadium. YES' Bob Lorenz will host pregame shows for away games, and Marakovits will provide on-site reporting and live interviews from the field.
Prime Video's live Yankees games will be available to MLB.TV subscribers outside the Yankees' home-team footprint.
Among the most interesting games on Prime Video are the back-to-back matchups on April 16-17. The first will feature American League MVP runner-up Bobby Witt Jr. and the Kansas City Royals in the Bronx. The following night, the Yankees will return to their spring home, George M. Steinbrenner Field, as the visiting team to face the Tampa Bay Rays, who are subletting the ballpark after Tropicana Field was damaged by Hurricane Milton.
Other notable matchups include an April 30 game against the Orioles, a Friday, July 25, game against the Phillies, a Friday, Aug. 22, game against the Red Sox and a Sept. 3 game against the Astros.
