Brother Of UFC Fighter Dead In Terrible Apartment Fire

The younger brother of UFC middleweight fighter Marvin Vettori has passed away following a fire in Mezzocorona, Italy.

Patrick Vettori, 30, died in a blaze inside his apartment in the province of Trento, according to reports. TGCom24 reported that neighbors alerted authorities of smoke coming out of Vettori's residence, triggering a response from emergency personnel. Unfortunately, despite their efforts, Vettori was already dead due to smoke inhalation.

Before his passing, Patrick Vettori had entered his name into the race for the upcoming municipal elections in Mezzocorona on May 4.

In a heartbreaking and emotional Instagram post, Marvin Vettori paid tribute to his brother's memory, sharing photos of the two growing up together.

"You were and will always be number 1 my little brother!" Vettori's translated message reads. "You left leaving an unfillable void, I will love you until my last breath. I don't think I will be the same after today because maybe I never told you but my strength has always been you. You were the smartest and most intelligent of the 2, you were creating a wonderful future for yourself and I can't get over it.

"It is said that Jesus calls the most beautiful souls prematurely to have them with him in heaven and so I hope that is the case, that you are there with him looking and watching over us with that goodness that has always distinguished you.

"I love you my brother, and even if it won't be easy to continue a life without you, it comforts me to know that one day I will be buried next to you.I love you ️."

The No. 10 middleweight in UFC, Vettori has been with the organization since 2016. Overall, he is 19-8-1 in his career as a professional fighter.

Vittori last competed at "UFC Fight Night: Vettori vs. Dolidze 2" back on March 15, where he lost to Georgian fighter Roman Dolidze by unanimous decision. Vettori had previously beaten Dolidze in March 2023.
