Carson Hocevar was the fastest man in the desert on Saturday.
The second-year Cup Series driver laid down a lap of 27.16 seconds in Saturday's practice session at Phoenix Raceway and was atop the speed chart when the lone 45-minute practice session of the weekend ended.
Michael McDowell, Tyler Reddick, Austin Cindric and Chris Buescher rounded out the top-five, with William Byron, Denny Hamlin, Erik Jones, Christopher Bell and John Hunter Nemechek completing the top 10.
Other notable practice results include Joey Logano in 11th, Bubba Wallace in 12th, Chase Elliott in 20th, Kyle Busch in 21st and Kyle Larson in 26th.
Katherine Legge's first NASCAR Cup Series practice session saw the Guildford, England, native finish 37th out of 37 cars on the speed chart, with a fastest lap time of 28.34 seconds.
Teams had the opportunity to run laps with both the harder, primary tire and the softer, option tire.
Qualifying for Sunday's race at Phoenix is next for the Cup Series and will be broadcast on Amazon Prime, MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.
Hamlin won the pole at Phoenix in March 2024, while Martin Truex Jr. won the pole when the circuit visited Phoenix in November.
The Shriners Children's 500 at Phoenix Raceway will go green shortly after 3:30 p.m. ET on Sunday, with coverage on Fox Sports 1, MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.
