Kyle Larson dominates Xfinity Series race at Bristol

Kyle Larson won Saturday's NASCAR Xfinity Series SciAps 300 at Bristol Motor Speedway in dominant fashion, leading 277 of 300 laps en route to his 16th NASCAR Xfinity Series victory.

It's the second Xfinity Series win at Bristol for Larson, and the first career Xfinity Series win for crew chief Adam Wall.

Larson finished third in Stage 1 but roared back to win Stage 2 and lead the final 110 laps of the race, beating Carson Kvapil to the checkered flag by 2.054 seconds.

The win comes after Larson lost the Xfinity Series race at Homstead-Miami Speedway on Mar. 22 in heartbreaking fashion following a late-race caution.

"Just another really good car," Larson told CW Sports. "I just love this place (Bristol). Justin (Allgaier) did a good job hanging with me there that last run. The pressure was on a little bit, but we had a good enough to get in the lead, stay in the lead, and be really good in traffic."

The win also comes at the end of an emotional week for Larson, Hendrick Motorsports and the entire NASCAR industry. On Thursday, HMS confirmed that team Communications Director and veteran industry member Jon Edwards had passed away. Edwards worked with Jeff Gordon since the beginning of Gordon's NASCAR career in the 1990s and officially joined Hendrick in 2021, where he worked closely with Larson while serving as Communications Director.

"Damn good," Larson told CW Sports when asked what winning Saturday's race meant in the wake of Edwards' death. "It's awesome. I wish I could've won last night (in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race), but came up a little short... We got one more tomorrow, (there would) be nothing better than to cap it off with a Cup win for Jon and all of Hendrick Motorsports."

Larson's No. 17 Chevrolet wore a decal honoring Edwards, and many vehicles throughout the weekend are paying tribute to Edwards and his work in NASCAR.

Kvapil, Allgaier, Sammy Smith and Brandon Jones rounded out the top five, with Jesse Love, Ryan Sieg, Corey Heim, Christian Eckes and Dean Thompson completing the top 10.

Other notable finishers included Stage 1 winner Sam Mayer in 11th, Connor Zilisch in 12th, Taylor Gray in 19th, Austin Hill in 24th and William Sawalich in 34th.

The 10th race of the 2025 NASCAR Xfinity Series season will take place at Rockingham Speedway on April 19 in the first Xfinity Series race at the track since February of 2004. The North Carolina Education Lottery 250 will go green shortly after 4 p.m. ET, with coverage on the CW, MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.
