Kyle Larson races everything. NASCAR, IndyCar, midgets, sprint cars, you name it.
However, there’s one series the Hendrick Motorsports driver hasn’t dipped a toe into yet - NHRA.
On this week’s episode of the Stacking Pennies podcast, Corey LaJoie asked the 2021 Cup Series champion whether he plans to follow in Tony Stewart’s footsteps and try out drag racing. Larson’s answer might surprise you.
“I don’t know. It’s not on the table currently. No, I don’t think so,” he decided.
“I’m only 32 though,” Larson continued with a laugh. “I feel like that’s what people do when they turn 50, it’s like oh let’s go 300-something miles per hour, that’s a great time in my life to do that. Maybe once I turn 50 and get old like [Stewart], I’ll change my mind.”
The No. 5 car driver went on to congratulate Stewart on his first NHRA Top Fuel win over the weekend.
“Just another awesome thing to add to his resume,” he said. “Just solidifies him even more as the greatest all-around race car driver ever. Awesome to have been able to race with him in a few of the cars that he’s won in.
