The Track: Homestead-Miami Speedway

Built in 1993 and opened in 1995, the Homestead-Miami Speedway is a 1.5-mile progressively banked oval track. With 18 degrees on the bottom line and 20 degrees against the fence, Homestead is a fan and driver’s favorite track, ripping the fence and the options with grooves, gives fans exciting options.

The first Craftsman Truck Series race was held in 1996 with Dave Rezendes winning that race. The current wins record holder is Kyle Busch with three wins, followed by Todd Bodine with two, and a seven-way tie for third, all with one win. Justin Haley set the Truck Series record in 2018 with a 32.48-second lap.

Drivers To Watch:

We have two Cup Series drivers in the field this weekend. Kyle Larson and Ross Chastain. Larson will race the #07 with Spire Motorsports and Chastain the #44 Chevy for Niece Motorsports. Brandon Jones is in the field, racing for TRICON Garage. Corey Day, Larson’s mentee is racing also for Spire.

With Larson in the field, it is hard to not pick him as a lock for the race, but he has not raced a truck since North Wilkesboro in 2023. But he won that race.

In the field, Heim is bound to be the best Tundra on track. For Chevrolet, Grant Enfinger was the last winner here in the series, look for him to defend the win. 2022 winner and 2024 Truck Series champion Ty Majeski is looking for his first win in 2025 to defend his championship, but he is not the only fast Ford in the series this year. The Front Row Motorsports trucks of Chandler Smith and Layne Riggs have been hot lately.
