While the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series season is already a quarter of the way through, fans who want to relive the 2024 playoffs now get that chance.
Netflix announced on Wednesday that the second season of the docuseries “Full Speed,” which will include five 45-minute episodes, will debut on May 7.
The episodes will revisit the final 10 races of the 2024 Cup Series campaign that featured plenty of controversy, including Joey Logano being eliminated from postseason contention after Charlotte, only for the No. 22 Team Penske driver to be given new life following the disqualification of Alex Bowman for failing to meeting the minimum weight requirement in post-race inspection.
The series trailer also includes another notable controversy that occurred in the final Race of 8 at Martinsville when there was uncertainty on whether Christopher Bell or William Byron would advance to the Championship 4 race at Phoenix.
It was all the result of a couple of separate incidents, including the No. 20 Joe Gibbs Racing car riding along the outside wall similar to Ross Chastain a couple of years earlier trying to gain positions versus William Byron receiving the benefits of a pair of his Chevrolet teammates (Austin Dillon and Ross Chastain) forming a blockade to prevent other cars from passing and losing valuable points. The latter was a case of race manipulation and resulted in hefty penalties for the Nos. 1 and 3 teams, including fines and suspensions.
While the docuseries will be appealing for newer fans not familiar with NASCAR, regular fans might be interested but are more focused on the current campaign, which is taking an off week before resuming on April 27 at Talladega.
