NASCAR is truly a family affair, and the Busches are proof of that.
Of course, Kyle Busch and his older brother Kurt are both accomplished drivers, but there's a younger generation looking to get involved as well. On Monday, Kyle announced that he will race head-to-head against his nine-year-old son Brexton in the “Battle of the Busch’s” this Wednesday at Millbridge Speedway in Salisbury, North Carolina. The race will be available on DirtVision.
"They grow up so fast. Kyle Busch will go head-to-head against his 9-year-old son Brexton in a race," said the NASCAR on NBC X/Twitter account.
Samantha Busch, Kyle's wife and Brexton's mom, responded to the NASCAR on NBC tweet with her own reaction to the news.
"That they do! Can’t believe this is already happening!" she wrote.
Brexton Busch is coming off a win in the Junior Sprint A-Main at the 2025 Tulsa Shootout back in January, taking home the Golden Driller after leading the 20-lap event wire-to-wire.
“That was awesome,” Brexton said at the time, via Matt Weaver of Sportsnaut. “I’m so glad to be here and win. I’ve been watching all the races from last year to get ready for this year. I won all the races this week to get here. It’s awesome to win this race.”
The young buck has a ways to go to catch his father, a two-time Cup Series champion, but his career is off to a great start.
“He takes it all in, he sees what I do every Sunday,” Kyle Busch said last month. “He sees the interviews and stuff that I do and the upset moments too when I’ve got some frustrating races and stuff, and he gets frustrated too. Just working through all that with him at a younger age will help him into the future.
“… He does a good job, and we obviously work with him. He’s got some very corporate sponsors that are on board with him right now that have helped him along his way and through his journey. Many of those that hopefully we keep on board for the foreseeable future.”
