Stephen Curry has seen a lot of good players come through both the NBA as well as in women’s basketball. A few of them have impressed him enough that he wanted to created life-long connections with them.
For instance, he signed South Carolina women’s basketball star MiLaysia Fulwiley to be the first female college athlete to join his Curry Brand of exclusive sportswear. He repped her ahead of South Carolina’s NCAA national championship defense.
He also signed Azzi Fudd to his SC30 program even before she debuted with the UConn Huskies. Curry recognized her talent when she was in high school and brought her on to his brand development program to help her grow.
Now Fudd has become an NCAA national champion and was the Most Outstanding Player of this year’s March Madness. That is quite a feat considering she was battling her teammate and best player in college basketball Paige Bueckers .
She was surprised when she was named March Madness’ MOP. But what surprised her more was when Good Morning America’s Michael Strahan revealed that Stephen Curry was ‘jealous’ of her ‘pretty’ jump shot. To this a beaming Fudd replied.
That just feels wrong to say. It is like the prettiest good jump shot, but Steph’s is… top tier.

Strahan, a Super Bowl champion and NFL Hall of Famer, who then told the UConn star that her shot was indeed pretty. He then suggested her to challenge the Golden State Warriors superstar to a matchup and quoted a line from her viral t-shirt, ‘Fudd around and find out’.
When Michael Strahan referred to this viral slogan, his colleague asked Azzi Fudd about the backstory behind the viral t-shirt that her mother, Katie Fudd, wore during the NCAA national championship game. The UConn senior replied.
It was a family in Connecticut who came up with that and made these T-shirts. I think it’s incredible. They made posters at first. Every time I see it, posters, t-shirts, it makes me smile.

That t-shirt became a sensation and have since been selling out in and around Connecticut. Since Azzi Fudd is going to return for another year, those t-shirts might start filling out the Harry A. Gampel Pavilion next season.
Azzi Fudd was eligible to declare for the WNBA Draft. Early mock drafts projected that she could go to the expansion team, Golden State Valkyries at No. 5. That would have been an optimum situation considering her mentor Stephen Curry plays in the same building.
Moreover, she could have been the budding star the team built their future upon. Instead, she chose to ignore all those possibilities and return to UConn. With Paige Bueckers leaving for the WNBA, the Huskies would need Fudd’s scoring, defense and leadership.
If she manages to continue this season’s form, the DC native could end up vying for one of the top spots in next season’s WNBA Draft. There will be two new expansion teams in that draft, which means chances to land in a favorable situation are high.

The first round of the 2025 NFL Draft is officially in the books, and for one night all 32 teams are happy with their decisions. Many of them will continue to be happy when they get on the field. But not everybody got it right. Let's take a look at five teams that may have gotten it wrong. Giants trade up for QB Jaxson Dart The New York Giants' first pick, selecting Penn State's Abdul Carter, is a potential home run choice. He can change a defense and give the Giants a dominant pass-rush and defensive front with Kayvon Thibodeaux and Brian Burns. Their second pick of the night, when they traded back into the first round to select Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart, is not as encouraging. Not only because taking Dart over Shedeur Sanders is a bit of an off-the-board pick, but also because the Giants gave up such a steep price to move up to get him. Anytime you trade up, you need to be 100% sure you are getting the right guy. That is even more true when it is a quarterback. That is a lot of draft capital to give up for a risky quarterback on team that has a lot of needs. Falcons trade up for DL James Pearce Jr. The Falcons were the other team to move back up into the back end of the first-round, giving up a ton of assets to move up 20 spots to take James Pearce Jr. Pearce Jr. is a fine pick in the first round, and combined with No. 15 pick Jalon Walker should help improve a Falcons defense that needs a ton of help. But giving up that many picks, including a 2026 first-round pick, is a steep price to pay. Pearce better be worth it when you are giving up a future first-round pick. Cowboys select OG Tyler Booker Booker fills a massive need on the Cowboys' offensive line, but it is a question of value. If you are taking a guard with the No. 12 pick in the draft, you better be getting a Larry Allen, Alan Faneca or Steve Hutchinson clone in that spot. It better be somebody that can transform the position and have a Hall of Fame career ahead of him. Is Booker that sort of player? Time will tell, but for right now it seems a little high just based on positional value. Seahawks select OG Grey Zabel Everything that was just said about Booker also applies here to Zabel going to Seattle. Almost word-for-word. Yes, the Seahawks desperately needed to upgrade their line, and especially on the interior, but guards in the top half of the draft just seem like questionable value given some of the impact positions that are still available. Good guards can be found later. Raiders take RB Ashton Jeanty This is simply a question of whether or not this is the right spot for Jeanty. He deserves to be a high pick and he should be a high pick. He is the best running back in this class and in the right situation could be an immediate impact player. But do the Raiders have enough on offense around him to allow him to excel, and were there other positions they could have looked at in this spot to make the team better? The Raiders seemed to have taken the wrong lessons from the impact players like Saquon Barkley and Derrick Henry had on their teams during the 2024 season. Those teams did not excel because they found the right running backs, those backs excelled because they were put onto the right teams. The running backs were not one of the starting points of the offense, they were the final piece of the puzzle. The Raiders are expecting Jeanty to be one of the first key building blocks and one of the first starting points. That does not always work out well.
The hot corner struggles for the Chicago Cubs continued in Tuesday’s thrilling victory at Wrigley Field against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Gage Workman got the start and made both of Chicago’s errors in what turned out to be the best game of the young season so far. Matt Shaw was the Opening Day starter for Chicago at the third base spot, but the top prospect’s first stint in the big leagues turned sour rather quickly. Shaw slashed .172/.294/.241 with a .535 OPS in his 18 games and 58 at-bats to begin his professional career and was sent down to Iowa last week to work out the kinks in his offensive game. With Shaw being down in Triple-A for the time being, the Cubs officially brought back an old friend on Wednesday who has an established big league-level glove. The Chicago Cubs have DFA’d Gage Workman Per reports, the Cubs officially designated Workman for assignment on Wednesday and have signed Nicky Lopez to the active roster prior to the first pitch of the series finale against the Dodgers. Workman was a Rule 5 draft pick of the Cubs this past offseason and made the team after hitting well in spring training. In nine games and 14 at-bats at the big league level this year, he hit .214 and drove in three runs. Workman could return to the Tigers organization. Since he's a Rule 5 draft pick, if no other team claims him, the Cubs must offer him back to the Tigers organization for $50K. Lopez was with the Cubs in spring training this year and was granted his release after he did not make the travel roster to Japan. The Naperville native spent last year with the White Sox and collected six at-bats to begin 2025 with the Angels before Zach Neto returned from injury. Lopez is known for being a strong defender and can perhaps aid the issues that the team has had at third base to begin the season.
The Philadelphia Eagles are coming off one of the best seasons in franchise history, going 14-3, finishing in first place in the NFC East and defeating the Kansas City CHiefs 40-22 in Super Bowl LIX. One of the biggest contributors to their success was the defense, which ended the season ranked second in points per game allowed (17.8) and first in total yards per game allowed (278.4). However, they lost a few key contributors in the secondary, including trading safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson to the Houston Texans and cutting cornerback Darius Slay, who eventually signed a one-year, $10 million deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers. It's not as though the Eagles are willing to sit tight and not make some improvement, though, with Armando Salguero of Outkick reporting that they are one of several teams to call about Miami Dolphins cornerback Jalen Ramsey. Of course, throughout his nine-year career in the NFL, Ramsey has proven to be an elite player, being named to seven Pro Bowls and earning First-Team All-Pro three times. In 2024, he proved to still be a very reliable option in pass coverage, starting in all 17 of the Dolphins' games, allowing 44 receptions, 462 yards, three touchdowns and an 83.2 passer rating in 71 targets. For the Eagles, he could come in and immediately replace Slay, who put up almost identical numbers, being targeted 75 times, while allowing 41 receptions, 456 yards, two touchdowns and an 81.9 passer rating However, not only would the Eagles need to be willing to give up capital to acquire Ramsey, they would also need to be comfortable taking over his three-year $72.3 million extension, which doesn't start until 2026 and runs through 2028.
