The Bucks are waiving two-way center Liam Robbins, according to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype (Twitter link). The 25-year-old rookie was converted to a two-way contract after impressing in camp this past summer on an Exhibit 10 deal.
Robbins didn’t see much action at the NBA level this season, appearing in 13 games and totaling 57 minutes, nine points and 12 rebounds. He played more in the G League with the Bucks’ affiliate Wisconsin Herd, averaging 20.3 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.8 blocks while shooting 47.1% from the field.
The 7’0″ center went undrafted out of Vanderbilt in 2023, catching on a training camp deal with the Pelicans. However, he suffered a stress fracture in camp with New Orleans and was waived ahead of the season.
He’s currently dealing with a groin strain and hasn’t played for either the Bucks or Herd since Jan. 25. Two-way contracts can’t be signed after March 4, so the Bucks are likely clearing a spot to add a healthier player.
After waiving Robbins, the Bucks will have two players on two-way deals: Ryan Rollins and Stanley Umude. They’ll have one open two-way slot to fill once this transaction is complete. The Bucks could look to promote a player who’s already playing for their G League team or they can look elsewhere.

The Miami Heat finally got back to winning ways on Sunday after blowing out the Charlotte Hornets, 122-105, at Kaseya Center. This was thanks in large part to Andrew Wiggins, who exploded for a season-high 42 points on 16-of-21 shooting, to go along with three rebounds, five assists, two steals, a block and six triples. The Heat had lost 10 straight games entering Sunday's matchup and Wiggins did everything he could to put an end to their miserable drought. Up next for Miami is a very interesting matchup as they host the Golden State Warriors -- Wiggins' former team -- on Tuesday night. This also entails Jimmy Butler making his return to his former stomping ground following his mid-season trade to Golden State. Heat star Bam Adebayo was asked to share his thoughts on his former teammate's return to South Beach. Adebayo, however, chose not to talk about Butler directly, instead opting to focus on the matchup ahead. “It’s gonna be a great game," Adebayo told the media after Sunday's win over the Hornets. "I feel like it’s going to be high intensity. It’s gonna be a great game for both teams, and we’ll see who walks out with the W.” Butler and Adebayo played five and a half seasons together in Miami. During that span, they led the Heat to the NBA Finals twice. These two superstars have been to many wars together, but they will be opponents come Tuesday. There's no love lost between these two, but given their competitive nature, there is no doubt that the friendship will be set aside once they face off on the basketball court.
One of the contestants on the new season of American Idol dealt with an unimaginable tragedy in 2023. Freddie McClendon confirmed on Instagram that his audition will be airing during the Sunday, March 23, episode, and he has quite a story to tell. Freddie’s father, Davis McClendon, died on May 7, 2023. Davis was 46 years old at the time of his death. His body was found next to his wrecked car around 1 a.m. But while his death was initially suspected to be a hit-and-run, there turned out to be a much bigger story behind the incident. Davis’ body was found about 50 feet away from his BMW, which led authorities to believe that he was outside of his car when he was hit, according to a segment that aired on 48 Hours. They received more information from two women at the scene: Davis’ girlfriend, Meredith Haynie, and Megan McGovern, who babysits Meredith’s kids. Harley Funeral Home Crematory Davis and Meredith were on a date before he was killed. She said he called her just minutes after they parted and told her where he was, then put her on hold and failed to come back on the line, which sparked concern. Megan drove Meredith to the location Davis had given and they found his body. Investigators noticed a trail of oil near the vehicle, according to investigator Patrick Durkin, who also said that there were also footprints and tire tracks leading away from the oil stain. Tire tracks showed that another vehicle had driven down the road and turned around. At the location of the turn, there were oil spatters on a streetlight post. The oil stain led to the home of Bud Ackerman’s parents. Bud was Meredith’s estranged husband, and she said she thought Davis had been heading to meet him after their date. Authorities noticed oil leaking from Bud’s truck in the driveway, as well as a crack that seemed to suggest the car had hit someone. Meredith and Bud reportedly had a contentious relationship. Officials believed that Bud’s truck sideswiped Davis’ car and hit him while he was standing outside of it. Bud claimed that he didn’t see Davis since it was dark out, alleging that the incident was an accident. Authorities began to build a case to prove that Bud had intentionally hit Davis, while Bud’s team stood by the defendant’s story. In 2024, the case went to trial. After six days of testimony, the jury deliberated for 30 minutes before reaching a verdict. Bud Ackerman was found guilty and sentenced to 45 years in prison. American Idol, Sundays, 8/7c, ABC
Illinois basketball suffered a frustrating defeat to end their season on Sunday. The No. 6 seed Illini made it close at several points but never appeared to make a serious threat to overcome No. 3 Kentucky in the Round of 32 at the Fiserv Forum on Sunday. Illinois was blown out 88-65 in the quarterfinal of the Big Ten Tournament on March 14. Despite the lopsided ending, they earned the No. 6 seed and defeated No. 11 Xavier 86-73 on Friday. A tough loss for Illinois Basketball Unfortunately for Illinois, they will finish the 2024-25 campaign with a 22-13 record. Kentucky jumped out to a 25-13 lead with 8:34 remaining in the first half. The Illini closed some of that gap, making it a 37-32 contest at halftime. The Wildcats started fast in the second half, widening their lead to 70-54 with 9:32 remaining in the second half. Illinois would come within six points with 1:36 remaining, but a layup by Kentucky forward Andrew Carr would kill Illinois’ momentum. Kentucky would hang on to win 84-75 and advance to the Sweet 16 in head coach Mark Pope’s first season with the program. Freshman guard Kasparas Jackucionis struggled from beyond the arc, going 2-of-9 on three-point shooting. He finished with 13 points, five rebounds, and two assists. Junior Kylan Boswell led the team in scoring with 23 points. Despite being a lower seed, the Illini entered Sunday’s contest as 2.5-point favorites, per ESPN BET. Unfortunately for Illinois, the team suffered a Brad Underwood special. Since Underwood took over the program in 2017, Illinois has only made it past the Round of 32 one time, when they made the Elite Eight in 2024. Brad Underwood blasted on social media after Sunday’s loss Fans on social media vented their frustrations with Underwood and Jakucionis. Many blamed Underwood’s roster construction and choice of rotation for the loss to Kentucky. “Won’t go anywhere without a coaching change. Brad has proven himself over and over to not be able to adapt, instill discipline, and win the games that matter. Sadly tho will be 2-3 years of decline before donors will fund buyout. Wish Texas took him instead of miller,” wrote a fan. “Under Brad Underwood, it’s easy to say it seems like Illinois will continue to be back in these positions, but it’s going to be another offseason of questions. This year’s team didn’t have enough pieces that were always contributing,” posted another. “Worst coach of the year Candidate Brad Underwood was calling for no fouls with 80 seconds to play. This guy either had the under big or is absolutely clueless. Now he’s calling timeouts with 8 secs. Illinois needs to move on from Orange Hair Dye Brad,” wrote a fan. “I really get sick to my stomach angry seeing Tyler underwood on the Illini bench. Here’s a guy who has no reason to be a coach on a power 5 team. This is why I also cannot stand Brad Underwood. Always had his favorites and played players that didn’t deserve to play,” suggested another. “Does anyone actually think KJ is a good player? And that Brad Underwood is a good coach,” asked a fan.
As of now, the Cleveland Browns' starting quarterback for Week 1 is shaping up to be Kenny Pickett. That is after Deshaun Watson, who is entering the fourth season of a five-year, $230 million deal, had surgery in January to repair a re-ruptured Achilles injury. Pickett has not lived up to his status as a first-round pick by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 2022 NFL draft. In 30 career appearances (25 starts) with the Steelers and Philadelphia Eagles, he has completed 471 of 755 passes for 4,765 yards, 15 touchdowns, 14 interceptions and a 79.3 passer rating. In a video posted to the "NFL on NBC" YouTube channel, Pro Football Talk analyst Mike Florio predicted that the Browns will sign one-time Pro Bowler Carson Wentz to fill in for Watson. "I think Carson Wentz will be the one that they bring in to ultimately win the job at a time when they need cheap quarterbacks because they've got so much money and cap space still tied up in that albatross of a Deshaun Watson contract," Florio said. "The single worst transaction in NFL history, and that is not an exaggeration." The last time Wentz started at least 10 games in a season was in 2021 with the Indianapolis Colts, where he proved to be a viable option, completing 322 of 516 passes for 3,563 yards, 27 touchdowns, seven interceptions and a 94.6 passer rating. Since then, though, he has bounced between three different teams not getting much of a chance to prove himself with 13 appearances and nine starts, completing 201 of 319 passes for 2,036 yards, 13 touchdowns, 10 interceptions and an 81.7 passer rating. If Wentz can return to being the same player from just four years ago, he could be a bargain for the Browns to replace Watson with, as Spotrac places his market value at just $1.9 million annually.
