At the NBA trade deadline, the Los Angeles Lakers sent Dalton Knecht to the Charlotte Hornets in exchange for big man Mark Williams. This trade came as a bit of a shock since Knecht was in the midst of a solid rookie season, but the Hornets center projected to serve as a lob threat for Luka Doncic.

However, due to problems with Williams' physical, the Lakers rescinded this trade and have Knecht on the roster once again. This led to many wondering what Knecht's thoughts were on the situation, considering he was forced to rejoin a team that attempted to trade him.

Since the failed trade, the 23-year-old has appeared in one game, a Lakers loss to the Utah Jazz.

On Monday, Knecht made a post on Instagram, his first since the failed trade. In his Instagram post, Knecht shared that he was "grateful" to take part in this year's All-Star Weekend.

"All Star Weekend ‘25. Grateful for the opportunity," the Lakers rookie wrote.

The North Dakota native played for Chris Mullin's team during the Rising Stars Challenge and suited up for Candace Parker's team during the All-Star Game. In two combined games, Knecht recorded 13 points, four rebounds, and a steal.

This season, Knecht is averaging 9.4 points on 46.4% shooting and three rebounds per game. It will be interesting to see if Knecht's role in Los Angeles will change following the rescinded trade.

Regardless of what happens this season or the next, it is clear that Knecht possesses a lot of talent and should be a valuable contributor throughout his career. Whether he will showcase his value as a member of the Lakers or another team, however, will be something to monitor.
