The Sacramento Kings traded De'Aaron Fox to the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday, and while fans will have to wait a few days to see Fox in his new threads, he is changing at least one thing.
In his eight seasons with the Kings, he wore No. 5. Rookie Stephon Castle currently wears that number. In college, he wore No. 0, which is claimed by Keldon Johnson, who gave up No. 3 for Chris Paul this summer.
Instead, Fox will wear No. 2 for the first time in his career.

The Spurs haven't given the jersey to anyone since Kawhi Leonard was traded to the Toronto Raptors in 2018. Leonard ended his Spurs' tenure on a sour note, and fans were quick to make jokes at his expense.
"Instantly the best #2 in Spurs history, off the top of my head," posted one fan.
"Kawhi’s jersey will likely not be retired," pointed out another.
The Kings are yet to announce which numbers Zach LaVine and Sidy Cissoko will wear, but Cissoko's Spurs' number--25--is currently claimed by Alex Len, so he will have to change. LaVine, on the other hand, has worn No. 8 for the Minnesota Timberwolves and Chicago Bulls. Two-way wing Mason Jones wears eight right now, but he could be talked into changing it since he is not a full-time rostered player.
LaVine's jersey will likely be on sale for fans to purchase before the end of the week.
