At this year's trade deadline, the Boston Celtics were quiet in the market and stayed pat. At least, for the most part. In their lone trade of the season, the Celtics shipped out Jaden Springer to the Houston Rockets. Though Springer showed signs of promise with the Celtics, this move was not a major shock.
Shortly after acquiring Springer, however, the Rockets waived him before he could suit up for them. For the past couple of weeks, the Celtics champion has been sitting in free agency, waiting for his name to be called. Luckily for the 22-year-old, he does not need to wait any longer.
According to ESPN's Shams Charania, the Utah Jazz have signed Springer to a 10-day contract. By joining the Jazz, Springer will reunite with Svi Mykhailiuk, his former Celtics teammate.
Being on a 10-day contract, it is unlikely that Springer will take on a consistent role in Utah. However, he can still provide a lot of value to the team.
Free agent guard Jaden Springer has agreed to a 10-day contract with the Utah Jazz, his agent Chad Speck told ESPN. Springer played in 26 games for the Celtics this season.

As Celtics fans know, Springer is a fantastic on-ball defender. Given that the Jazz are currently ranked as the second-worst defensive team in the NBA, bringing Springer in has the potential to be a solid move for them.
The Celtics and Jazz are set to go head-to-head in Utah on March 10. Just 11 days after that, the two teams will face each other once again in Boston for the final time this season. If Springer stays in Utah for a while, he will have two chances to exact revenge against his old team.
