The Atlanta Hawks will have a new general manager next season.
ESPN's Shams Charania reported Monday the Hawks have fired general manager Landry Fields.
Minutes after Charania tweeted the news, the team announced the firing.
“Every offseason we evaluate how we operate and ways we can improve our organization," said Hawks owner Tony Ressler in a statement. "As we enter this pivotal offseason, we have several complex decisions ahead of us, and we are committed to providing the human and financial resources needed to ensure that we navigate these decisions with a high level of precision and foresight.
"Adding an accomplished, senior-level leader to provide strategic direction and structure as well as partnering with Onsi and our talented front office is a top priority."
The Hawks thanked Fields for his contributions to the organization and announced assistant general manager Onsi Saleh will replace Fields.
“I would genuinely like to thank Landry for his leadership during his time with us. Landry made our franchise better and left contributions that have positioned us for growth. I am grateful for his dedication and wish him success in his next endeavor,” said Ressler.

The Hawks went 40-42 during the 2024-25 NBA regular season. They made the league's Play-In round, but for the second consecutive year, the Hawks failed to advance past the tournament.
Fields became Hawks general manager prior to the 2022-23 season. During his three seasons, the Hawks didn't post a winning record and earned one playoff appearance, which ended with a first-round exit.
