Over the course of the past few days several NBA star players have been ruled out for the rest of the season.
First it was San Antonio Spurs star Victor Wembaynama, who was diagnosed wit hdeep bone thrombosis - a type of blood clot - in his shoulder. Then on Friday afternoon the Philadelphia 76ers made the decision to shut down Joel Embiid for the rest of the season as well.
At a time when star players are seemingly dropping like flies, the New York Knicks are headed in the opposite direction.
While he won't be confused for Wembanyama or Embiid in terms of star power, Robinson is a quality role player for the Knicks. He's been sidelined since having offseason ankle surgery, but was upgraded to questionable to face the Memphis Grizzlies.
ESPN's Shams Charania noted the "Knicks have brought along Robinson gradually in his rehab from the surgery and are expected to be cautious with his minutes as he debuts." That season debut will come on Friday night against the Grizzles.

Robinson played in just 31 games last season before eventually undergoing ankle surgery in December. He was able to return in late March, but suffered a setback when he was diagnosed with a stress injury to his left ankle in a playoff series against the 76ers.
The former second round pick is one of the best offensive rebounders in the game, finishing second in offensive rebounds per game during the 2023-24 season. He averaged 5.6 points and 8.5 rebounds per game for the Knicks in that season while playing just under 25 minutes per game.
Now he'll line up alongside Karl-Anthony Towns as the Knicks take on Ja Morant and the Grizzlies Friday night.
