On Sunday night, against his former team, the Boston Celtics, Washington Wizards guard Marcus Smart got into a heated altercation with a fan.
Witnesses said the fan started jawing at Jordan Poole and the entire Wizards squad for their mediocre performance against the defending champions.
Smart told the fan to talk to him instead of heckling the team. The argument got further heated, which led to the fan getting thrown out. Interestingly, the TD Garden crowd started cheering “We Want Marcus!” while the fan was being escorted out of the arena.
Sunday’s game in Boston was a blowout with the Celtics winning over the Wizards, 124-90. Payton Pritchard led all scorers with 20 points. He also chipped in seven assists and six rebounds. Six other Celtics scored in double figures, including Derrick White (19), Sam Hauser (18), and Jaylen Brown (15). Boston has won 11 of its last 12 games

Meanwhile, the Wizards had five players in double figures in scoring, led by Alex Sarr’s 16 points. Jordan Poole and Justin Champagnie chipped in 15 points each, while Bub Carrington added 14. Smart did not take the floor due to the coach’s decision.
The Wizards have lost five of their last seven games and have dropped to 17-61. They will finish their two-game road trip against the Indiana Pacers on Tuesday.
