Paolo Banchero is in the midst of a historic run, cementing himself not only as one of the league’s brightest young stars but as one of its premier scorers. His performances throughout March have elevated his status beyond just potential. He is delivering at an elite level, night in and night out.
Through 11 games this month, the 22-year-old is averaging a staggering 30 points, 7.7 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 1.3 steals per game. Just as impressive is his efficiency, as he’s shooting a blistering 41.2 percent from beyond the arc on 6.2 attempts per game, a significant leap from his season average.
His scoring output ranks fifth in the league during this stretch, and notably, he is by far the youngest player in the top five. The only names ahead of him are Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (26), Jalen Brunson (28), Ja Morant (25) and Luka Doncic (26)—all established stars either in their prime or approaching it.

If Banchero maintains these numbers, he will become the fifth-youngest player in NBA history to average at least 30 points per game while shooting 40 percent or better from three in a single month, per StatMamba. This level of efficiency from a player so young is rare, putting him in the company of some of the game’s all-time great offensive talents.
Beyond just raw numbers, his performances have directly impacted Orlando. Banchero has recorded the third-most 30-point games this month, trailing only Gilgeous-Alexander, an MVP frontrunner, and Doncic, one of the most prolific offensive forces in modern history. His ability to take over games has been crucial in keeping the Magic competitive.
Orlando currently sits eighth in the Eastern Conference with a 35-38 record and has won three straight behind their forward's heroics. With the regular season winding down, the Magic are unlikely to secure a top-six seed and avoid the play-in, as they sit six games behind the Detroit Pistons in sixth.
However, with Banchero playing at this level, Orlando becomes a dangerous opponent for any team in a high-stakes, single-elimination scenario. The Magic’s postseason hopes rest heavily on their young star, and if his March form carries into April, they could be one of the most formidable play-in teams in recent memory.
