Philadelphia 76ers Handed Another Joel Embiid Problem
Vincent Carchietta-USA TODAY Sports

Joel Embiid has only played two games this season. The Philadelphia 76ers have lost both in what has been a 2-10 start to the 24-25 campaign for them. That is an awful record for a team that had Championship aspirations coming into it.

Embiid has been surrounded by controversy. Whether it be due to his knee issue, the Sixers' plan to keep hopefully keep him healthy until the playoffs or incidents off the court.

The 76ers' next game is against the Miami Heat. Unfortunately, it looks like Embiid's availability for the game is up in the air once again.

According to Keith Pompey on X, Embiid is listed as questionable for the game against the Heat with an illness.

Of course, anybody can fall ill. But when you consider everything that has surrounded Embiid in recent times, it is unsurprising that some fans are starting to lose patience.

One used wrote: "He has quitness."

Another believes that it is time to move on from Embiid altogether as he wrote: "Just trade him man, he is completely done."

Someone else also added: "Man trade this guy while we can."

Of course, it does not take long for opinions to change in basketball. Not too long ago, many considered Embiid as the best in the world. It is safe to say that that is no longer the case. But if he can put together a good enough season, he can change the fans' perception once again.

For that, he needs to remain fit and play consistent high-level basketball. Embiid is doing neither of the two right now.

On the two occasions that he has played this season, Embiid has looked extremely rusty. Some pundits have even questioned whether he is capable of being the same player with the amount of health issues he has dealt with over the course of his career.

Embiid is just 30. On paper, he should have plenty of basketball left in the tank. But considering how things are going for him at the moment, one cannot overlook the possibility that he might be on a downward trajectory already.
