Memphis Grizzlies' rookie Zach Edey was playing in the Final Four just one year ago. Then, Edey declared for the NBA Draft and was selected by the Grizzlies at No. 9 overall.
Edey, who was a star during his college career at Purdue, has been making headlines lately in the NBA.
On Saturday against the Detroit Pistons, Edey had six points with 21 rebounds in 29 minutes. Then, Edey had 17 points with 19 rebounds in the win over the Charlotte Hornets on Tuesday night.
As such, Edey made history not seen since Shaquille O'Neal. According to StatMamba, Edey became the first rookie to have 40 or more rebounds over any two-game span since Shaq did it in 1993.
Tuesday's game also marked Edey's fourth straight game with double-digit rebounds and his fifth in the last six, so he has been a rebounding machine.
After the news came, the Purdue basketball account reacted accordingly to Edey's accomplishment.
"Feasting," they wrote with a plate and fork emoji.

On the season, Edey is averaging 9.3 points with 8.2 rebounds, and he has started 53 games for the Grizzlies.
Edey is averaging just over 21 minutes per game, but he has seen an uptick in usage as of late, and the latest rebounding surge has definitely been a big boost for the rookie.
The Grizzlies are set to be in the NBA Playoffs, although they shockingly fired head coach Taylor Jenkins right before the season came to an end.
