Evidently, the trade deadline move for the Golden State Warriors to deal for Jimmy Butler has more than paid off.
The club was scorching hot in the latter half of the NBA season, leading them to a No. 7 finish in the Western Conference and a playoff berth.
Also, Butler has delivered in the two postseason games he's played in a Warriors jersey, including playing a pivotal role in the Warriors' Game 1 win over the Houston Rockets.
The former Miami Heat star forward has been pivotal in the Warriors' success on many levels.
The most obvious impact Butler has made is relief for Stephen Curry, who has been able to elevate his play and prove capable of taking Golden State to the promise land.
The club gambled in making a move for a veteran star and moving more draft capital, but a playoff run will have made the trade more than worth it.
On Monday, one key detail of the trade was finalized after an NBA announcement.
The Warriors sent the Heat a first-round pick for this upcoming draft and received a second-round pick. A coin toss from the NBA determined where those two picks would land.
"The NBA settled some tiebreak scenarios for the draft today, firming up some details from the Jimmy Butler trade: The Warriors will send the 20th overall pick in the upcoming draft to the Heat and will receive the 41st overall pick," The Athletic's Anthony Slater reported.

Needless to say, the Warriors would surely be fine dealing whoever they would have selected with the No. 20 overall pick to the Heat in favor of landing Butler, who has provided a sense of hope and optimism in the Bay Area.
