Steph Curry Explains Meaning Behind Jimmy Butler's Viral Post

The Golden State Warriors entered Game 3 of their first-round series against the Houston Rockets on Saturday without Jimmy Butler. Butler was ruled out for the contest due to the injury he suffered after a hard fall in Game 2, and it was a massive blow for the Warriors.

The Warriors were 25-27 without Butler in the regular season, and his absence presented the Rockets with a golden opportunity to take a 2-1 lead and reclaim home-court advantage. Steph Curry, however, ensured the visitors would leave Chase Center empty-handed.

Curry had 36 points, seven rebounds, nine assists, one steal and two blocks in Game 3. The two-time MVP once again stepped up and delivered when the Warriors needed him the most, and they are the ones now up 2-1.

After the game, Butler put out a post on Instagram with the caption, "thanks batman and team. excluding buddy." The six-time All-Star once again referred to Curry as Batman and took another light-hearted jab at Buddy Hield.

The post also had the iconic "bat signal," just with Curry's logo in it instead of Batman's. Curry was asked about it postgame and revealed he actually uses that picture when he needs his guys to show up for golf.

“I’ve actually used that when I’m like a last-minute tee time, and I need my guys to show up. I’ll throw up that exact picture, and whoever answers it gets the places and the tee time," Curry said, via 95.7 The Game. "So, it's kind of funny now. It's kinda coming back full circle."

Game 4 of this series will be played at the Chase Center on Monday at 10 p.m. ET on TNT. The Athletic's Anthony Slater reports there is a belief that Butler will be back for the game.
