Steph Curry Follows Kawhi Leonard's Example After Game 3

Steph Curry was at his devastating best as the Golden State Warriors beat the Houston Rockets 104-93 in Game 3 at Chase Center on Saturday. Curry has given the Rockets and their fans plenty of nightmares over the years, and his performance in this game is another one they would want to forget about.

Curry put up 36 points, seven rebounds, nine assists, one steal and two blocks against the Rockets. There was much talk before this series about how the 37-year-old might struggle against this defense, but he has torn them apart.

The Rockets have been extremely physical when defending Curry, but he is still averaging 29.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 7.0 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.0 blocks per game in this series. The 11-time All-Star has been remarkably efficient too, shooting 52.6% from the field and 45.2% from beyond the arc.

Curry has now given the Warriors a 2-1 lead over the Rockets, and after the game, he chose to follow Kawhi Leonard's example. After the Los Angeles Clippers beat the Denver Nuggets 117-83 in Game 3, Leonard made a statement before his postgame press conference by putting down the Gatorade bottles that were on the table.

Leonard stated that children don't need to be drinking Gatorade and made it clear he doesn't have much love for the NBA's official sporting drink. Curry has now followed suit, but he wasn't as harsh as the Clippers' star.

"Nah, we PLEZi," Curry said, via Oh No He Didn't. "PLEZi's way better, sorry. Had never even seen these before."

Curry had teamed up with Michelle Obama's public benefit company, PLEZi Nutrition, to launch PLEZi Hydration in March 2025. It's been called a healthier sports hydration drink, and Curry would much rather have you drink it than Gatorade.
