The 2025 NBA All-Star tournament has now come to an end, with Shaquille O'Neal's OGs team winning the tournament. For his performances, Stephen Curry was named the Kobe Bryant All-Star MVP. He was the best player on the team, and the sentimental favorite, given that the festivities were taking place at the Chase Center, the home of the Golden State Warriors.

Across two games, Stephen Curry played about 23 minutes and scored 20 points (7-17 FG), 10 rebounds, two assists, and three steals. Curry scored a massive 12 points in the tournament final to help Shaq's OGs pick up the win and lift the All-Star game trophy in front of his loyal Golden State Warriors fans.

This is the second All-Star MVP win of Stephen Curry's career, with his first win coming in the 2022 NBA All-Star game. Curry now becomes the 14th player in NBA history to win multiple All-Star game MVPs during his career. This honor cannot be played down, as only the elite players in the history of the league have won multiple All-Star MVP trophies.

If Curry wins two more MVPs in the years to come, he will join Bob Pettit and Kobe Bryant, the namesake of the award, as the players with the most All-Star MVP trophies in the history of the NBA.

It was a strong performance from Stephen Curry tonight, especially given that this is a new format and the avenue for individual, high-scoring performances is limited at best. His 20 points were the highest-scoring performance across two games for any player in the All-Star tournament.

This marks the end of the first-ever NBA All-Star tournament, the first time the league has tried this new format that involves three teams of All-Stars and one Rising Stars squad in a four-team tournament. The games were all kept short, with both sides playing to reach 40 points first to win the game.

The tournament format has not gone down well with many people. Draymond Green was especially annoyed at the new format, as he believes allowing the Rising Stars to play in the tournament devalues the honor of being nominated as an All-Star.

He believes that the All-Star title carries a lot of weight, and allowing young players in the league to take this stage only waters down any current and future All-Star nominations.

But it isn't just Draymond who is unhappy with the change in structure. NBA fans reacted to tonight's All-Star proceedings and expressed their continued frustration with the league for not creating an entertaining game for them.

Given the pushback this new format has received, it will be interesting to see if the league sticks with it in the years to come. But the reception to this new format will be something the NBA will monitor, given their concerns about fan disinterest and declining viewership.
