Tuesday night was no Stephen Curry, no problem for the Golden State Warriors. They still managed to win an impressive 104-93 ball game over the Milwaukee Bucks in the comforts of the Chase Center. Jimmy Butler had a big hand in that victory and his head coach certainly took notice.
Butler delivered 24 points, 10 assists, and eight rebounds on the night, falling just shy of a triple-double. The win helped improve the Warriors to an impressive record of 15-2 with their newest star in the lineup.
It was not too long ago that Butler had commented on the fact that he could turn it on whenever he wanted to. Before yesterday's contest, the six-time All-Star was posting modest production with his new team, despite their clear success overall.
Butler averaged 16.8 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 5.9 assists leading into the matchup against the Bucks. Those averages were all comfortably exceeded against Milwaukee.
"He's been telling you guys, when it's time, he'll do it. Tonight it was time," Steve Kerr told the media after the game.
"He just does whatever is necessary," the Warriors head coach continued. "It's a good game for us to play, actually, without Steph, because it sort of forces the rest of the team to play a game without him and then to play through Jimmy and to see what we've got."

To Kerr's point, the Warriors have clearly have a lot going for them even without Curry. This is welcome news considering the aftermath of the loss to the Denver Nuggets.
Kerr discussed how exhausted his starting point guard looked after an underwhelming performance against the Nuggets. The Warriors opted to give Curry the night off in the second part of a back-to-back. They were rewarded with a win and an opportunity to rest their legendary superstar.
