Victor Wembanyama headlines NBA All-Star reserves

The NBA announced the reserves for the 2024-25 All-Star game on Thursday night, and San Antonio Spurs star Victor Wembanyama is one of the biggest names to earn a spot. The second-year standout will be attending his first All-Star Game and is one of the top reserves after narrowly missing out on a starting spot in the Western Conference.

He is averaging 24.4 points and 10.8 rebounds per game, while also leading the league in blocks for the second year in a row.

He's one of the biggest bright spots on a Spurs team that's in 12th place in the Western Conference and trying to keep pace in the race for a play-in spot.

Wembanyama was one of the most anticipated and hyped draft prospects to enter the NBA since LeBron James, and he hasn't disappointed. Not even two full seasons into his career, he already looks like he has the chance to be a franchise-altering player and become one of the faces of the league.

He should be a regular at this event.

This year's game will take place Feb. 16 in San Francisco.

The other reserves for the Western Conference include Anthony Edwards (Minnesota Timberwolves), Anthony Davis (Los Angeles Lakers), James Harden (Los Angeles Clippers), Jaren Jackson Jr. (Memphis Grizzlies), Alperen Sengun (Houston Rockets) and Jalen Williams (Oklahoma City Thunder).

Wembanyama, Sengun and Williams are all appearing in their first game.

Davis is selected for the 10th time, while Harden is going to his 11th game.

In the Eastern Conference, the reserves include Jaylen Brown (Boston Celtics), Pascal Siakam (Indiana Pacers), Darius Garland (Cleveland Cavaliers), Evan Mobley (Cleveland Cavaliers), Cade Cunningham (Detroit Pistons), Damian Lillard (Milwaukee Bucks) and Tyler Herro (Miami Heat).
