The Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Memphis Grizzlies 134-127 at the FedExForum on Saturday night to thwart a two-game losing skid. A video of a frustrated Luka Doncic went viral on social media. Doncic, 26, spoke a raw yet relatable quote, “I’m so over this s***.” Doncic’s quote was understandable but also concerning, as the NBA regular season and postseason are exhausting and can take a toll on NBA players like Doncic.

Video of Luka Doncic Goes Viral

On Saturday night, the video of a frustrated Luka Doncic went viral on X, formerly Twitter. Luka Updates wrote on X, “Luka: I’m so over this s***,” with a laughing emoji and a video of Doncic saying the quote. Luka Updates’ post was a far cry from Doncic’s performance that night. Doncic led the Lakers with 29 points, 8 rebounds, and 9 assists in 38 minutes of play.

Doncic proved to the general public why he’s become such a force in Los Angeles. However, Doncic’s anger has been a cause of concern. His anger, body language, conditioning, and work ethic issues were reportedly reasons why the Dallas Mavericks traded him to the Los Angeles Lakers. He has been frustrated with officials in the past, including the 2024 NBA Finals against the Boston Celtics.

Luka Doncic Highlights a Key Issue

Los Angeles Lakers head coach JJ Redick has strongly emphasized a few principles to his team. Redick told his team to compete. Redick’s system is indicative of competition. The Lakers’ defense keeps switching and playing with explosive movements while moving the ball and getting the best shot when in a systematic state. But the Lakers’ defense stifled the Chicago Bulls on Thursday, March 27, in a 119-117 win at the United Center.

After Thursday night’s game, Doncic told reporters, “You know our third quarters weren’t good. So today, I think we had to show that our third quarter needs to be better.” It was also reported that he couldn’t stop thinking, “We relaxed in the fourth quarter, so just got to play the game for 48 minutes.” His words attracted attention to the Lakers’ 18-point lead, allegedly making them take things easy that night.

Final Thoughts

The Los Angeles Lakers might be wasting the talent of LeBron James, Luka Doncic, and Austin Reaves. However, the Lakers’ struggles might be attributed to James, Doncic, and Reaves’ anger and frustration at the same time. James’ reactions and Doncic’s rage have been two of the biggest topics in the NBA world and have caused some to describe James and Doncic as one of the greatest complaining duos in the history of the NBA.

The Lakers will open a three-game homestand starting with the Houston Rockets on Monday night at 7:00 p.m. Pacific. The Lakers will host the Golden State Warriors on Thursday night at 7:00 p.m. Pacific and the New Orleans Pelicans on Friday at 7:30 p.m. Pacific. The Lakers’ push for the NBA playoffs gets serious as the race tightens up with a handful of games left, so stay tuned.
