The Golden State Warriors suffered quite a brutal loss on Saturday, losing to a poor Philadelphia 76ers team in a 126-119 contest.
Since Jimmy Butler arrived in the Bay Area at the trade deadline, the club has posted a 7-2 record. One of those two losses coming to the 76ers isn't a great sign, though Butler was sidelined with back issues.
Regardless of the recent loss, the Warriors have found their stride in the season, even with their winning streak coming to an end.
While Stephen Curry is finding his best form of the season and Butler has provided a superb impact, Golden State still has one secret weapon, who has been out for quite some time.
Jonathan Kuminga, who was posting a career year, is in the midst of a contract season. Last having played in early January, the G League Ignite product has been out for nearly two months at this point.
The forward has been averaging 16.8 points per game while on the hardwood, though it's unknown what his role and impact will look like, both coming off an injury and playing alongside Butler for the first time.
On Saturday, ESPN's Shams Charania provided a crucial Jonathan Kuminga update. With three games remaining on their current road trip, they could be waiting until they return back to the Bay Area for his return.
"Jonathan Kuminga is really close to his return," Charania said. "He's in the final stages of a rehab of his significant ankle sprain he suffered in January. His return will not be tonight, it's unlikely to be Monday in Charlotte.
"They have three more games on this road trip before they return home. I'm told the Warriors are considering waiting until next weekend, when they're back at home, for his return."

Assuming Butler can get back on the hardwood, a couple of extra games won't significantly impact Golden State, who has been without Kuminga since early January.
Kuminga needs to focus on getting back to form and fully healthy for a late-season push and a potential postseason run.
