The Golden State Warriors are attempting to make one more push at an NBA title, behind the dynamic duo of Stephen Curry and Draymond Green.

Golden State entered the NBA playoffs as the No. 7 seed in the Western Conference standings. They defeated the No. 2 Houston Rockets in Game 1, 95-85, but suffered a 109-94 loss in the following matchup.

As the Warriors prepare for Game 3, which will be played in Golden State, the NBA revealed the winner of the Defensive Player of the Year award.

Green, who previously promoted himself for the prestigious award, finished at No. 3 in the Defensive Player of the Year voting, behind the winner Evan Mobley and the runner-up, Dyson Daniels.

While Green has mentioned on multiple occasions that he deserves the award and this may be the last time he finishes as a finalist, given his age (35), he was dealt the unfortunate sting to his resume.

Mobley won the award with 35 first-place votes. Daniels followed that with 25 first-place votes and Green finished with 15 first-place votes. Green also received 20 second-place votes, 19 third-place votes, totaling 154 points.

Throughout the season, Green has averaged 9.0 points, 6.1 rebounds and 5.6 assists per game. On the defensive end, he's posted 1.0 block and 1.5 steals per game.

Despite the tough blow for Green, he's going to have to quickly turn his focus to the playoffs, as the Warriors face the Rockets on Saturday at 8:30 p.m. ET.

All eyes are on an NBA title for the Warriors.
