What Did Draymond Green Say About Cavs?

At 13-0, the Cleveland Cavaliers, led by Donovan Mitchell and their head coach Kenny Atkinson, impressed Golden State Warriors Draymond Green. Not since the 2015-16 Golden State Warriors has the NBA seen such dominance to start a season. Green talked about the Warriors' Nov. 8 136-117 loss to the NBA's best team.

The Draymond Green Show with Baron Davis is a basketball podcast that allows listeners to hear the Warriors' deepest and, at times, problematic thoughts. In a recent episode, Green explained why he believes the Cavaliers are a legitimate contender and how they impressed him.

"I think these Cleveland Cavaliers are serious, and I'm gonna tell you why I think they serious," Green said. "That ball humming so crazy, BD [Davis], my head was on goddamn spinning, they were moving that ball so fast. I was like, whoa, whoa, oh man, ah, what the hell, ah, this dude just replaced three, like, he just, like, I'm like, he relocated, oh my god, like, they moving the ball so crazy."

Cleveland's offensive numbers support Green's podcast commentary. Firstly, the Cavaliers rank first on offensive rating and have the seventh-most assists per game. Furthermore, their backcourt of Mitchell and Darius Garland combined for 44 points average. In addition to the quality counting stats, the efficiency matches, given the 44 percent shooting from deep for Garland and 40 for Mitchell.

Despite Cleveland playing in the weak Eastern Conference, it outlasted playoff-caliber teams such as the Warriors and New York Knicks and dominated the Los Angeles Lakers.

Given the Warriors' 9-2 record, perhaps Green's commentary on the Cavaliers alludes to a 2025 NBA Finals matchup.
