What player has the most NBA championship rings?

NBA greats are often judged by how many championships they win. For players such as Michael Jordan, who won six NBA titles with the Chicago Bulls, championship rings are a legacy enhancer. For those who never won a championship, such Charles Barkley, a lack of rings will forever be a missing piece to a Hall of Fame career. No NBA star has more championship rings than former Boston Celtics legend Bill Russell, who won 11 titles in 13 NBA seasons.

Who else earned rings from those great Celtics teams?

Before the Celtics drafted Russell with the second overall selection in the 1956 draft, Boston had never won an NBA championship. From Russell’s rookie season through his retirement in 1969, Boston failed only twice to win the final game of the NBA season. While Celtics greats Sam Jones (10 championships), K.C. Jones (eight titles) and John Havlicek (eight championships) were a huge part of the dynasty, only Russell was part of all 11 Boston title teams in the 1950s and 1960s.

Who's second to Russell in championship rings?

Although it’s hard to imagine anybody matching Russell’s 11 NBA championships, other players have accumulated multiple NBA championship rings. Robert Horry, known as “Big Shot Bob” for his clutch shooting, won seven titles with three teams over 16 NBA seasons. Scottie Pippen teamed with Jordan to win six rings in Chicago. Finally, the NBA’s all-time leading scorer, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, formerly known as Lew Alcindor, won six championships with the Milwaukee Bucks and Los Angeles Lakers.
