Playing on the road in the NBA is difficult. What's even more difficult is having success in the NBA. One of the most complex challenges is playing against the Denver Nuggets. However, the Washington Wizards may have the last laugh against The Joker.
The Denver Nuggets are one of the better teams in the NBA. They are a top three team in the Western Conference. They're one of the few teams in the league that are mentioned in the NBA Championship conversation. The reason behind it is because they have perhaps the best player in the league, Nikola Jokic.

Nikola Jokic has received the nickname, The Joker due to the complexity of his last name. The nickname is likened to one of DC Comic's Villains who is the arch enemy of Batman. The Joker is a villain who gives Batman problems in a variety of different ways.
Nikola Jokic is a player who can beat you in a number of different ways as well. He does everything well as he averages a triple-double for the regular season with points, rebounds, and assists. Playing against him wasn't an easy task for the Wizards. However, they managed to escape Denver with a win.
The win was a team effort for the Wizards. Every starter for them scored in double-figures. In fact, Alex Sarr had a career-high 34 points in this game. However, Jordan Poole is the player who sealed the deal for the Wizards.
Jordan Poole pulled up nearly from halfcourt in the face of former Wizard Russell Westbrook and nailed a three-point shot which secured the 126-123 victory for the Wizards. This game certainly was a confidence builder for the team. They Wizards have played well on this seven-game road trip.
What makes this win significant is the very fact that the Nuggets are a team still fighting for playoff positioning. They are purposely trying to win games so they can receive home-court advantage for the playoffs. They have a legit opportunity to do so however the clock is ticking for them.

Meanwhile, the Wizards have eyes on the NBA Draft. They also were without one of their most significant players Bilal Coulibaly as he is out for the season. The Wizards are continuing to form an identity as they continue to win late in the season. In this game particularly, they ended up having the last laugh against The Joker and the Denver Nuggets

Toronto Maple Leafs Make Major Roster Changes After Embarrassing Loss to Ottawa
Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube is shaking things up today ahead of the team's match against the Calgary Flames. The Toronto Maple Leafs dropped their game against the Ottawa Senators 4-2 on Saturday, dropping the season series between the rivals 0-3. The Senators are the only team in the NHL to beat the Leafs three times this season. Understandably, Craig Berube and the players are not happy about the result. After the game, Berube addressed the media as usual and said he didn't like the team's energy, while also talking about potential lineup changes. 'I didn't love the energy levels the last couple of games to be honest with you. Just success that we've had and the chemistry that they have. I wanted to create a line with Laughton and Lorenz and Jarny, just more of an identity line, a checking line.' During morning skate today, Berube noted how the mood was a bit different than normal and the guys were much more quiet than usual, but added that it was a good thing. He knows the players are just as upset as he is, and he wants them to channel that into their next game tonight against Calgary. Based on the lines Berube put together for the morning skate session today, it does appear as though there will be some changes for the game. Newly acquired center Scott Laughton will be on the fourth line alongside Calle Jarnkrok and Steven Lorentz, forming what Berube is calling the 'identity line.' The top six remains largely the same with Tavares stepping up between Holmberg and Nylander while Domi slides back to being with Nick Robertson and Bobby McMann. Joseph Woll will be getting the start in goal. The Leafs are four points back of the Florida Panthers with two games in hand so tonight's game will be critical if they want to win the division. Fraser Minten's outstanding performance sparks major regret over Leafs' deadline trade with Bruins
The Toronto Maple Leafs included prospect Fraser Minten in the deal with the Bruins in exchange for Brandon Carlo, a move they may now be regretting. The Maple Leafs felt that they needed to beef up their blue line for the stretch run leading up to the 2025 Stanley Cup playoffs, and they pulled off a rare trade with their Original 6 and Atlantic Division foe Boston Bruins. The Leafs acquired defenseman Brandon Carlo from the Bruins and in return sent prospect Fraser Minten along with a first-round pick in the 2026 NHL Entry Draft and a fourth-round pick in the 2025 NHL Entry Draft to Boston. While it wasn't the easiest of decisions for general manager Brad Treliving to move a highly regarded prospect to a divisional foe, he hopes it pays off in the long run (and more immediately with postseason success in this especially pivotal year for his club). Fraser Minten Already Making Waves In Boston However, Minten is making the Leafs consider if moving him was the best option. He's already lighting it up with the AHL's Providence Bruins, having picked up a natural hat trick in Sunday's game against the Springfield Falcons. The Leafs made Minten the 38th overall pick in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft, and he's played the bulk of his professional career in the minors with the WHL's Kamloops Blazers along with the AHL's Toronto Marlies. He has 19 total NHL games under his belt with four points (2G, 2A). He scored his first NHL goal earlier this season only seconds into his first shift, which was a hopeful sign of things to come for the future of Minten with the team, but it was short-lived. Before being traded to the Bruins, Minten had 13 points (6G, 7A) in 26 games with the Marlies. He struggled over his past dozen or so games, but with his latest outburst of production, it's safe to say he's finding his offensive game. Which is a hard pill to swallow if you're a Maple Leafs fan.
Insider offers update on Saints, Derek Carr offseason saga
Multiple NFL insiders previously noted that the New Orleans Saints could still trade Derek Carr later in the offseason even though the club recently restructured the quarterback's contract. On Monday, Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated shared why it'd now "be awfully tough for the" Saints to part ways with Carr before next year. "If the Saints were to move him now," Breer wrote, "they’ll have given Carr $38.745M in cash for 2025 to play somewhere else and they’ll have to take the $59.67M in acceleration onto their [salary cap]. Which they could do, I guess, but wouldn’t make much sense. So it’s hard to see where Carr isn’t in New Orleans in 2025, though given the desperation of a couple teams right now, I actually think there’d be a decent market for him if he became available." Other than the money attached to Carr's deal, the fact that the Saints would probably struggle to find an upgrade at the sport's most important position makes it likely they'll stay married to the 33-year-old until further notice. Sam Darnold, Justin Fields and Geno Smith are now all off the market. Both Aaron Rodgers and Russell Wilson are in the twilight of their careers. There's no indication the Saints are considering trading for the first pick of the 2025 draft that could be spent on Miami's Cam Ward, and many believe every other to-be rookie quarterback in this year's class is a project at absolute best. Assuming the Tennessee Titans plan to hold onto the draft's first choice so they can acquire Ward, that leaves the Cleveland Browns, New York Giants and Pittsburgh Steelers looking for bridge quarterbacks with both Rodgers and Wilson available in free agency. Additionally, it's no secret the Falcons want to trade Kirk Cousins now that they have 2024 first-round draft pick Michael Penix Jr. as their starter. Breer added in his piece that he thinks recently hired Saints head coach Kellen Moore will not "have much trouble" getting on the same page with Carr following an awkward offseason that included the veteran making it known that he wouldn't take a pay cut. While plenty can happen between now and January, it seems the 2025 campaign could be Carr's last with New Orleans.
