Corey Seager and Javier Baez officially have new homes.
On Monday, Seager agreed to a whopping 10-year, $325 million deal with the Texas Rangers. The 27-year-old had seven successful seasons with the Los Angeles Dodgers, highlighted by winning both NLCS and World Series MVP honors back in 2020. With Seager gone, L.A. could reportedly target Atlanta's Freddie Freeman to replace his bat in the lineup. Meanwhile, in Detroit, the Tigers have finally found their shortstop, agreeing to a six-year, $160 million contract with the 28-year-old Baez. Earlier in the offseason, it was rumored that Carlos Correa would ultimately end up in Detroit, but with Baez now in the fold, Detroit will invest their remaining resources elsewhere.
Which brings us to today's quiz of the day. In MLB history, shortstops have hit 30 or more home runs in a season 46 times, including Baez, who did so last season while splitting time between the Cubs and Mets. So, with that in mind, how many of the 46 can you name in five minutes?
Good luck!
