The 'First running backs taken in every NFL draft since 2000' quiz

It took 46 picks for a running back to be selected in the 2024 NFL draft with the Carolina Panthers taking Jonathan Brooks. The first running back won’t have to wait nearly that long to hear his name called this year, with Boise State star and Heisman finalist Ashton Jeanty expected to go early in the first round. While Jeanty made his name in part due to his insane workload in college, he said he doesn’t need that to succeed as a professional.

“I think it’s good to have a two-man running back system if you have really two great guys at the position,” he told Pro Football Talk

“I mean, I kind of had that in college my first two years and I think it can be really beneficial to the players’ longevity. But, you know, just from this past year, from a durability standpoint, if you can handle that, if you can take that heavier load each and every single game, I’m here for it.”

Which brings us to today’s quiz. While there was much made about the expendability of the running back heading into last season, the production of players like Derrick Henry and Saquon Barkley will have plenty of organizations looking to replicate that success. With that being said, can you name the first running back selected in every NFL draft since 2000?

Good luck!
