3 Teams Mentioned In Kirk Cousins Trade Ahead Of NFL Draft

Sooner or later, the Atlanta Falcons are going to move on from Kirk Cousins. It's simply just a matter of time.

Just a year ago, the Falcons signed Cousins to a four-year, $180 million deal. After a promising start to his first season in Atlanta, he struggled mightily down the stretch and was benched in favor of rookie quarterback Michael Penix Jr. He ultimately finished the 2024 season with 3,508 yards, 18 touchdowns and 16 interceptions.

Even though Cousins isn't thrilled with his situation in Atlanta, he showed up for the start of the team's offseason workout program. Clearly, he's willing to be cordial with the coaching staff and front office.

Besides, Cousins could be traded in the near future anyway. With the NFL Draft almost here, there are three teams being mentioned in a potential deal.

According to Dianna Russini of The Athletic, the Cleveland Browns, Minnesota Vikings and Pittsburgh Steelers have emerged as suitors for Cousins.

"The Steelers, Browns and possibly Vikings could be involved in a trade involving Kirk Cousins," Russini said . "Minnesota is looked at as the least likely scenario, given their preference to favor J.J. McCarthy, and Cousins would need to sign off on any deal he's involved in."

A return to Minnesota would probably be the best thing for Cousins, but Cleveland isn't a bad landing spot either due to his history with Kevin Stefanski

Cousins' future could have a domino effect on the quarterback market. If the Steelers were the ones to acquire him, that would leave Aaron Rodgers without a landing spot.

It'll be fascinating to see how this situation plays out for Cousins and the Falcons.
