Aaron Rodgers' Ex-Teammate Makes Telling Comment About 2025

Aaron Rodgers remains unsigned on the eve of the NFL Draft, much later into the offseason than most fans and analysts expected.

The New York Jets made it clear that they were moving on from Rodgers prior to the start of free agency. Teams have also made it clear that they're interested in adding Rodgers, but as of an appearance on the Pat McAfee Show last week, the four-time MVP remains undecided.

In a recent interview, one of Rodgers' most notable ex-teammates says there may be a reason why he has yet to join a new team.

During a conversation with Mike Silver of The Athletic, Davante Adams noted that he spoke to Rodgers after the Jets informed him of their plans to let him go.

"I was shocked because I didn't think anybody had the balls to, for lack of better words, to hit him with it like that," Adams said about how the Jets handled parting ways with Rodgers.

"Just flat out — 'Yeah, I think we're just gonna do something different. We're gonna move in a different direction.' It was shocking, but right from that moment, I knew there was no chance that I'd be back there."

During an appearance on The Athletic's "Scoop City" podcast, Silver went into more detail about what he heard from Adams during their conversation.

"The second thing Davante told me was, 'I think Aaron wants someone to roll out the red carpet for him. That is what he is looking for,'" Silver said.

"I'm not sure if he would consider the Steelers doing that right now. I'm not positive how Aaron perceives that or how the Steelers perceive that. But the Vikings clearly aren't. ... It felt to me like, Aaron, based on what Davante said, would love to be swept off his feet."

Silver added that he understood Rodgers' stance - as a four-time MVP and one of the greatest of all time, one could expect to be given the red carpet treatment.

It sounds like Rodgers will wait until he feels wanted enough to make up his mind. In the interim, the Steelers and Vikings may address their quarterback situations in this weekend's NFL Draft - even as they wait for Rodgers to come to a decision.
