The New York Jets and quarterback Aaron Rodgers played the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, but they were blown out, losing 40-14.
New York fell to 4-12, yet it still sits third in the AFC East, just over the New England Patriots (3-13).
At one point during the fourth quarter, the Jets subbed out Rodgers in favor of backup Tyrod Taylor.
After the game, Rodgers himself admitted that it was his idea to get benched.
"I mean it was 33 to nothing, we were sitting there and I said at some point 'probably go to Tyrod here, huh?'" he said. "Then the next play [the Bills] threw a screen for a touchdown. So it was 40 to nothing."
Aaron Rodgers revealed to the media that he instigated his own benching in the fourth quarter during a sideline conversation w/ #Jets interim HC Jeff Ulbrich.

Rodgers finished the game, completing 12-of-18 passes for 112 yards, zero touchdowns and two interceptions.
Fans are now furious at Rodgers for deciding not to return to the game.
"This just slams home the point of Rodgers needing to go…" said one comment.
"Would any team still want him? It feels like he just quit on the team. Aside from that, he just hasn't been any good season," said another.
A third stated, "After he gets people fired, his best buds hired, he quits on the team…hall of fame character right there."
"Is it possible to sue him for fraud for impersonating an NFL QB?" a fourth continued.
"He has officially ruined the jets. Y dictating who he wanted there," another comment read.
"Yup, he ruined the jets. Single-handedly turned a perennial Super Bowl contender into a laughing stock. I can’t imagine how many rings they’d have won in the last two years without him," another fan replied.
Taylor would have a solid end of the game, completing 11-of-14 passes for 83 yards, two touchdowns and giving the Jets their only life all game.
