ESPN's Adam Schefter is sending love and condolences this weekend to the family of fellow NFL insider Jay Glazer.

Jay Glazer, who has been FOX's top NFL reporter since 2004, announced on Saturday afternoon that his father Ed passed away hours earlier at the age of 83. A native of Brooklyn, Ed played a major role in shaping his son's love of football, which led to Glazer's career as one of the NFL's top information men.

"My pops passed this AM at 83. Last weekend I got to fly back East to say goodbye to my dad before he died. I am soooooo glad I did. Listen gang, we just rent these bodies but the souls live on forever, at least that’s what I CHOOSE to believe," Glazer wrote on X/Twitter.

"We had a really good goodbye. I get to remember THAT, which is a gift. Pretty surreal conversation. But I was able to leave him with gratitude. I was able to thank him for taking me to Giants Stadium on Sundays growing up, who would have thought that those Sundays would lead to my career. I also thanked him for getting me close to my Judaism, which he instilled in me at a young age. I’m a VERY faith-based person so that truly meant a lot to me."

While Glazer and Schefter have been long-time competitors for NFL scoops, the two have a mutual appreciation.

Schefter shared his condolences and best wishes for Glazer on Saturday evening.

"A great tribute to a great man. Sincerest condolences on your loss, Jay," Schefter tweeted

Since announcing the news of his father's passing, Glazer, 55, has been on the receiving end of prayers and heartfelt messages from around the media world and from NFL fans.

We would also like to extend our deepest sympathies to Glazer and his family during this difficult time.
