The Cincinnati Bengals have one of the best quarterbacks in the league in Joe Burrow, but it is always good to have guys that can come in if something may happen to their star.
One of the players that Cincinnati had behind Burrow this past season was former Toledo star Logan Woodside. The team announced Wednesday morning that they were re-signing him to a one-year deal to continue to back up their star.
Woodside has not yet made start in his four-year career, but his job is to be a guy that the team can look to in desperate need, as he is currently the QB3 behind Jake Browning.
The team knows that Woodside can get the job done because of some of the eye-popping stats that he put up in his time in college. He finished his junior season at Toledo with 4,129 passing yards and a very impressive 45 touchdowns, both of which led the Mid-American Conference.
In both his junior and senior seasons in college, he dominated Toledo's conference in every single passing category. As a result of his dominating play in his final year, he was named the MAC Player of the Year.
The Bengals will be hoping they will never have to call on Woodside if both of their other quarterbacks go down, but he will be ready if the team ever needs his services.
