The NFL postseason is officially underway, and after dominant victories by the Houston Texans and Baltimore Ravens, 12 teams now remain in the hunt for a Super Bowl appearance.
As the race intensifies, many experts have made their predictions for the postseason, including Bill Cowher, the iconic former head coach and current "NFL Today" analyst on CBS Sports.
Cowher, best known for his time as head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers, guided the team to a Super Bowl win in 2006 over the Seattle Seahawks. Throughout his career, the Steelers made the playoffs ten times, captured eight division titles, and posted an all-time regular-season record of 149-90-1, while going 12-9 in the postseason. He was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2020.
With his deep football knowledge, Cowher made his Super Bowl prediction clear. He believes the Kansas City Chiefs (15-2) will face the Detroit Lions (15-2) in the big game.
However, he went on to predict that it will be the Lions who emerge victorious and capture their first-ever Super Bowl victory, delivering a historic win for the franchise and bringing a championship title to the Motor City.
"Lions and the Eagles... I would go Lions," Cowher said while predicting the NFC Championship. "Then I'm gonna go with the Lions to win the whole thing. I think the Detroit Lions are on a mission this year."

The Detroit Lions are one of the oldest NFL franchises, founded in 1930, yet they remain the only team in the NFC to never reach a Super Bowl. Last season, they made it to the NFC Championship but fell short against the San Francisco 49ers.
This year, with a first-round bye secured, the Lions will need to win two games on their home turf in Detroit to reach the Super Bowl. If they do, they very well could face the Chiefs—a matchup that pits two franchises on opposite ends of the NFL spectrum.
