August wasn't a kind month for the Buffalo Bills. The organization lost key players throughout training camp including All-Pro linebacker Matt Milano.
While Milano's triceps injury was thought to knock him out for the full season, the All-Pro linebacker has returned to the practice field with hopes of making a debut in the coming weeks moving forward.
And it's something that everyone in the locker room loves to see.
“I can’t commend him enough for how he‘s handled the situation and the type of leader that he's been inside our locker room,” Bills quarterback Josh Allen said. “Obviously he’s been traveling on away trips and staying in the ears of guys. To have that type of veteran leadership from a guy who has been through quite a bit over the last couple of years injury-wise.
"Never has he put his head down or said, ’ Poor me.’ He’s continued to work extremely hard. I’m very excited for his return because he deserves it.”
Milano has always been a leader in the locker room for the Bills. He's also been one of the best linebackers in the game over the last few seasons.
Now that he's fully healthy, the Bills and their coaching staff believe Milano can provide more than just an on-field spark for the 8-2 Bills.
"He’s so resilient, he’s persistent," Bills head coach Sean McDermott concluded. "He’s got a goal, and he’s worked his butt off to get back to where he’s at. This will be the first practice he’s had in quite some time."
