The Denver Broncos are going to be active this offseason by adding more weapons for their franchise quarterback, Bo Nix.
Last season, Denver had one wide receiver, Courtland Sutton, go for 1,000 yards. They're second-leading wide receiver was Marvin Mims with just 503 yards receiving.
From the tight end position, Adam Trautman led the Broncos tight ends in receiving with just 188 receiving yards which is unusual for a tight end in a Sean Payton offense.
With free agency coming up in March, there's one name that has sparked a lot of attention for the Broncos and that's Taysom Hill.
Payton drafted and coached Hill in New Orleans with the Saints and created a unique "Swiss Army Knife" role with the former BYU quarterback.
Hill is currently in the final year of his 4-year $40 million that he signed in March of 2021.
With the Saints being nearly $50 million over the salary cap heading into the offseason, there's a real chance that they could release Hill.
While carrying nearly an $18 million cap hit, the Saints could save $10 million by cutting Hill after June 1.
Last season, Hill played in just eight games after suffering a torn ACL in Week 13 against the Los Angeles Rams.
Hill finished the 2024 season with 278 yards rushing for an average of 7.1 yards per carry and scored six touchdowns. He also caught 23 passes for 187 yards.
According to Pro Football Focus, he took 24 snaps at running back, 91 at wide receiver, 43 at tight end, and 41 more at fullback.
According to former NFL quarterback, Brock Huard, he thinks the Seahawks and Broncos would have interest in Hill.
“I’ll tell you, it’s not gonna just be in the Seattle market,” Huard said. “It’s in the Denver market, because Sean Payton coached him down in New Orleans.
While Payton coached Hill in New Orleans, Hill rushed for 1,183 yards on 221 carries and found the endzone 16 times on the ground. In the receiving game, Hill caught 34 passes for 388 yards and scored seven touchdowns. He also threw for 2,025 yards and eight touchdowns while completing 64.2 percent of his passes.
There's no doubt that the Broncos will look to add more running backs, tight ends, and maybe another wide receiver or two to improve their offense, but who's to say they couldn't add another weapon like Hill that can do everything?
It's safe to say that with the right weapons, Nix could be looking to have one of the best offensive seasons in Broncos history next to Peyton Manning.
