Sean Payton and the Denver Broncos were reportedly fighting hard to make sure that they were able to run back the same quarterback room they had last season in 2025.
The organization is obviously looking to continue building around Offensive Rookie of the Year candidate Bo Nix. But Payton was also hopeful he'd be able bring back Jarrett Stidham as the team's QB2 — and apparently he got it done.
Per The Athletic's Dianna Russini: "Sean Payton worked hard to keep his QB room intact. The Broncos are bringing back their backup QB Jarrett Stidham despite the QB having interest from other teams."
Denver is also trying its best to retain Zach Wilson, who they acquired last season from the Jets. But as Russini notes, "they may lose him."
The Broncos re-upped with Stidham on a two-year deal worth $12 million — a slight raise over the two-years, $10 million he made when he first signed on to be Russell Wilson's backup (and we all know how that went).
Denver went 10-7 and narrowly missed out on the playoffs in the crowded AFC West this past season. However, there's a lot to be excited about in the Mile High City.
The team appears to have found it's quarterback, the defense was more than solid and for the first time in a long time the division rival Chiefs look mortal.
