Browns' Myles Garrett explains viral outburst in blowout loss to Patriots

Cleveland Browns star pass-rusher Myles Garrett went viral when he made it known he wasn't pleased that he was removed from Cleveland's 32-13 blowout loss at the New England Patriots late in Sunday's contest when the result had already been determined.

Following the defeat that dropped the Browns to 2-6 on the season, Garrett shared why he was so fired up after he tallied five sacks at Gillette Stadium.

Why Myles Garrett was frustrated to be pulled from Patriots game

"I’m frustrated," Garrett acknowledged, per Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer. "I want to win. I don’t care how much time is on the clock. They’ve got their starters in. There’s a chance we can win. I want to be a part of that. I don’t care how dire the situation looks. I’m wanting to try to make something happen. So I hate coming out of those situations. I hate that kind of inevitability and not being able to do anything about it. I want to win, and I’ll do anything."

Earlier in October, Garrett raised eyebrows when he admitted it was "frustrating as hell" for Cleveland to "lose the same way every time." On Sunday, the Browns offense mostly left much to be desired against the Patriots, with rookie Dillon Gabriel serving as Cleveland's starting quarterback. Garrett defended Gabriel after the game and said he sees "a young quarterback that’s fighting" to notch wins for the struggling club.

On Sunday, Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski suggested Gabriel will start over fellow rookie Shedeur Sanders when Cleveland plays at the New York Jets (1-7) on Nov. 9. The Browns and Jets will spend Week 9 on bye.

Myles Garrett vows to "continue working" during Browns' bye

"I’m going to watch the film and I’m going to talk to different coaches and players and see what ideas they have on finding a way to win, offense, defense, special teams," Garrett explained. "I want to be part of success, and it doesn’t just stop and start at defense. So, however I can be of use, however I can be helpful, I want to do that, and there ain’t going to be any days off for me. I’m going to continue working on my bye week."

While Garrett seems serious about serving as a vocal leader for the Browns behind the scenes, the harsh truth of the matter is that Sunday's loss offered more reminders that Cleveland lacks talent compared to what teams such as the 6-2 Patriots are featuring this season. Nevertheless, Garrett challenged his teammates to keep battling amid what seems to be another lost campaign for the organization.

"Don’t quit," Garrett added during his comments. "Keep your head up. Hold everyone’s feet to the fire, even my own. Try to find something, some kind of remedy for this, and how we can improve. I’m not going to put the red dot on anybody without putting it on myself and how I can be better and what more I can do for my team. And just going to continue to get different people’s opinions and ideas and how we can turn the tide right now."
