Browns Reportedly Open to Trading Multiple Stars Entering NFL Draft

The 2025 NFL Draft is a big opportunity for the Cleveland Browns, as they have the chance to drastically improve their roster after going just 3-14 in 2024 and finishing in last in the AFC North.

They have some major decisions to make with their abundance of capital, as they already hold 10 picks, including four inside of the top-100 (No. 2, No. 33, No.67 and No.94).

However, there's a chance they will be doing a lot more than just drafting throughout the next few days, with Jordan Schultz of Fox Sports reporting that cornerback Greg Newsome and defensive end Ogbo Okoronkwo are both available via trade.

Okoronkwo just wrapped up his second season with the Browns, where he's proved to be a solid piece, accumulating  54 tackles, 17 tackles for loss, 7.5 sacks, 14 quarterback hits and nine pressures.

His role with the team has also seen some steady increase in that time, appearing in 14 games with zero starts in 2023, which would improve to 16 appearances and five starts in 2024.

Newsome would undoubtedly be the bigger loss, as he's been with the Browns his entire four years in the league, as they drafted him with the No. 26 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.

Throughout his time, he's proven to be a key piece, appearing in 54 games with 42 starts, being targeted 249 times while allowing 149 receptions, 1,730 yards, nine touchdowns and an 87.9 passer rating, while also reeling in three interceptions.

However, he is set to play in 2025 under his fifth-year option, where he will be making $13.3 million, and it's unclear if the Browns would be interested in bringing Newsome back on an extension.
