The Tampa Bay Buccaneers search for an offensive coordinator to replace the recently departed Liam “Dooo-voaoal” Coen has come to an end.
“The #Buccaneers are promoting pass-game coordinator Josh Grizzard to offensive coordinator, sources tell The Insiders. Grizzard, 34, replaces the departed Liam Coen, as Tampa keeps continuity and hands the play-calling reins over to a coach who is highly regarded in the building.”
The Buccaneers are poised to maintain continuity on offense by promoting Josh Grizzard, their current pass game coordinator, to the role of offensive coordinator. Grizzard, 34, joined the Buccaneers in 2023 and has already made a significant impact.
A Yale University graduate, Grizzard has steadily risen through the coaching ranks, previously working with the Miami Dolphins. In 2024, he played a key role in the Buccaneers’ offense, specifically handling third-down situations. By promoting Grizzard, the Buccaneers aim to preserve the momentum and familiarity on their offense.
Bucs head coach Todd Bowles has consistently demonstrated a willingness to entrust his offense to relatively young coordinators. This trend is evident in his recent hiring decisions:
2022: Byron Leftwich (42 years old)
2023: Dave Canales (41 years old)
2024: Liam Coen (38 years old)
2025: Josh Grizzard (34 years old)
By appointing Josh Grizzard as his new offensive coordinator, Bowles is continuing this trend, handing the reins to one of the youngest coordinators in the league.
