The Tampa Bay Buccaneers continued putting together their 2025 roster together. Tuesday they took a step towards filling out their depth on the offensive line.

Via the team’s website,

“G Sua Opeta, who proved to be a valuable spot starter over four seasons in Philadelphia, will get another shot at helping the Buccaneers in 2025 after spending his first season in Tampa on injured reserve. ”

Veteran lineman Sua Opeta joined the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in free agency last March, aiming to secure the starting left guard spot. However, his inaugural season was cut short when a knee injury during the first week of training camp landed him on injured reserve.

Opeta (6-4, 305) began his NFL career as an undrafted free agent with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2019, out of Weber State. He spent his rookie season on the Eagles’ practice squad and started 2020 in the same role before being promoted to the active roster in September. Opeta went on to make two starts at left guard in 2020 and added two more starts in 2021, despite spending time on injured reserve and the practice squad.
