Arizona Cardinals fans have been hoping they would see the organization make something big happen on the first day of the NFL's "legal tampering" period.

For the first couple of hours, the organization made them sweat as they watched a number of big names that could have been good fits for them head elsewhere.

Now that sweat is over, but a new one has been introduced for Cardinals fans.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Cardinals have greed to a four-year deal with Josh Sweat worth $76.4 million.

Sweat was seen as one of the top edge rusher options in this year's free agent class before the playoffs. Then he put on a show in the biggest game of the year and really solidified himself as an option to watch this offseason.

In the Super Bowl, Sweat was responsible for six total tackles, with two for a loss, and 2.5 sacks as the Eagles' defense made Patrick Mahomes miserable.

Sweat was a popular name in Cardinals predictions this offseason and the fit here is obvious.

The Cardinals needed pass rush help after putting together one of the league's worst pressure rates in 2024.

Meanwhile, Sweat has been a consistent producer on that front for the Eagles for years and he was 21st among edge rushers with 54 total pressures this past season according to Pro Football Focus.

Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon was also previously Sweat's defensive coordinator in Philly.

Cardinals fans wanted to see the team make something big happen with all of the cap space they brought into this offseason and now they've gotten that big move to kick off the team's free agency activity.
