The Kansas City Chiefs reached Super Bowl LIX back in February, hopeful to make history with a third straight Super Bowl victory. As per usual when it comes to the Big Game, a vast swath of media from a variety of outlets were drawn from all corners of the country.

Kansas City being on the cusp of history certainly helped those maters to an extent.

But that conquest fell short as the team suffered a decisive 40-22 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. While that reality carried some disappointment for the Chiefs, a more daunting and sudden story emerged out of that week.

Telemundo sports reporter Adan Manzano suspiciously died while in New Orleans covering the event.

This week, new details have emerged in regard to that tragedy. Danette Colbert, the woman last seen with Manzano before he was found dead in his hotel room, has been charged with second degree murder, according to The Advocate

Colbert was previously arrested Feb. 7 on charges of robbery and fraud after authorities discovered she was using debit card and had possession of his cell phone.

During a preliminary toxicology screening, it was determined that Manzano had the depressant benzodiazepine in his system. A similar drug was reportedly found at Colbert's place of residence following a recent search.

Colbert has a history of targeting men and drugging them in order to steal property, police said.

Police have also arrested Rickey White for his alleged role in Manzano's death. Security footage at the Comfort Inn in Kenner, Louisiana, show White entering the building with Colbert.
